Thought from Those We Serve

Cheryl and Crew,

How do I do I come up with the words to express what I feel for each and everyone of you. The simple answer is I don't have the vocabulary to achieve this goal.

I want to start by thanking you all for the beautiful flower arrangement you sent to Mom's funeral. The cat was perfect and could have only been made better if it had been black and I know that's what you wanted

I also wanted to thank everyone who was able to stop by the visitation or funeral and share your stories and memories about Mom with us. We are the lucky ones as we have over 50 years of those memories and stories to rewind in our minds.

The most important thing is that I want to thank all of you for providing my Mother with such a wonderful place to call home these last couple of years. If one had asked me a couple of years ago, if that many caring people still existed in this world, my answer would have been "No." To find this many kind and caring people all located in the same facility is unheard of in today's society. I know my Mom appreciated, as did I, the loving, caring, and healthy environment she had to spend her last couple of years. You are all a super bunch and I can never express how I feel for each and every one of you. Thank you all for everything you did for my mother and I.

With much appreciation,

Randy

Dear Cheryl, Rick, Nancy and wonderful care staff,

Mother's Day seems a very appropriate time to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for the tender and loving care you have given Mom during the past six months.

She tells me so often how happy she is to be there with all of you, caregivers and residents, her new extended family.

We feel so fortunate that Mom can live in Lake City near us at such a special place as High Street House.

Again… thank you!

Grant and Karen

Hello Everyone at High Street House,

This note is long over due. Mom misses all of you very much and not a day passes that she doesn't mention you (or ask when she is coming home to you). We as a family are so grateful for the care and friendship you gave her during her stay there.

She recently moved to a private room that looks out on to the front lawn of the nursing home with bird feeders and a playful white squirrel. Mom has adopted him as her own and keeps a close eye on him. You can probably imagine her now, laughing at his antics. She also enjoys watching the birds and the traffic that comes and goes.

Right now she's lost her desire to sew, but does a little knitting. She goes to as many activities as she can and will play a game of Scrabble now and then. She's quieter than we're accustom to, but very pleasant and still finds humor in many things.

She will always welcome you to stop in to say hello, but may not remember each visit.

We hope this finds all of you and your loved ones healthy and happy. You hold a special place in Mom's heart and ours.

Our sincere thanks to you all.

Take care,

Martha's family

Cheryl, Rick and you wonderful Women!

Thank you, thank you, thank you and yet thank you again for all you do in making mom's and all the others there at High Street House lives full of joy and worth.

May God's blessings be upon you all!

Dear Cheryl,

Thank you so much for bringing me and my grandma out to your farm. Your horses are very pretty and cute, as are your dogs and your rabbits.

I really enjoyed touring your farm. Thanks for taking us to see that wonderful view of the town, it was breathtaking.

I had a lot of fun, thanks again!

Sincerely,

Keri

Dear Cheryl,

Just a note to thank you for the great German meal we just ate. I hope you know that all you do to make life here pleasant and gratifying does not go unnoticed.

I'm sure it's hard for folks as young as you to realize how traumatic it is to have to give up our homes, most of our things and move into a home like this. However you continue to do all kinds of things to make it as nearly "our home" as you can, all the extra things you do and plan and execute make it much easier to accept.

You could just provide room and board with no extras on the side, but you continually plan and do all kinds of extra things to make us feel "at home" her, for that I thank you.

You have gathered together a group of employees who really seem to care about us and our feelings. I feel welcome, wanted, even needed a little bit and that's so important to us old folks.

Thank you so much and know that we may not always show it, but we do appreciate all your efforts and are healthier and happier than we have any right to expect.

God bless you for your compassion.

Lovingly,

Jackie

Dear Cheryl and Staff,

Thank you for making Connie's birthday so special, I know she really appreciated it, as did we.

We feel we are all so fortunate to have Connie at High Street House; the care she receives from each and every one of you is great.

Thank you for inviting Renen to join the party Monday afternoon too.
